Inktober 6-9

It’s been a few days, busy days, emotional days.

There are several close friends going through big things at the moment, and there’s not a lot I can do. Those are not my stories to tell.

I’m sanding, oiling, and painting a potting table I resurrected from a close friend’s back yard. I needed to amputate it’s feet too…within 3.5 inches of the lower shelf to get to clean wood. I’m not tall, so it is still tall enough for me. I only cut off 1.5 – 2 inches (hard to tell because of the rot). I failed to take a before picture, but I’ll do better as the process continues.

There is a sewing project under way as well…modifying a long (dress length) sweatshirt. Lengthening the sleeves and opening up the somewhat constricting hemline.

The plants are coming in from the front porch in pairs…just one spider plant to go. The doors and windows leading to the front porch are closed now. The furnace was turned on for the first time yesterday when the indoor temperature came down to 59 degrees F. Brrr. I’ll be able to turn if off again for a few days this week…the last warm days of 2022.

I’m reading Last Bus to Wisdom for book club, and it’s a great read.

Lots of stuff…plus work.

As a result of everything, I found myself with four days of prompts awaiting drawings. It was time for a 4fer. These are always fun.

In case my handwriting is unintelligible, “Once a month I have to TRAP a wild hair on my chin with the aid of a MAGNIFYING GLASS. The last time—around the FULL MOON—I discovered a small FERN frond as well. The man on the moon had a good laugh at that.”

When you’re young, no one tells you about the wild hairs.
